Open space and working farmland are an important part of our local economy. There are many tools for keeping farmland viable, one of which is the purchase of conservation easements. Arcady Solutions has worked with many communities in the Hudson Valley to develop funding applications for purchase of conservation easements.

Town of Plattekill Sidewalk Project: {CASE STUDY}

Safe Routes to Schools application - Arcady Solutions developed and submitted the grant application in March 2008. The project - for sidewalk construction to connect a residential and commercial hamlet with the local elementary school along a highly trafficked highway - was awarded $400,000 from New York State Department of Transportation.

Grants Coaching

Arcady Solutions is working with select communities and organizations to identify grant opportunities, coaching through the application process from creating the concept to application submission. Services include research and editing.

Economic Development

In Ellenville, New York, Ms. Nielson served the Ellenville Local Development Corporation as Interim Economic Development Officer, working with emerging and expanding businesses to access technical and financial resources for job creation and retention.
